Nikon Body & TC Caps

- by Lars Holst Hansen
Nikon body and teleconverter caps are denoted BF-x

There are surprisingly at least two versions carrying the BF-3 name. A metal and a plastic version!
The metal version consists of four pieces. A male F-mount part, a front plate, a retaining ring and a stopping screw. The mount part has a lens locking indentation. This makes it useful for teleconverters that will not securely hold the plastic body caps.

The plastic version of BF-3 does not have a lens locking indentation and will therefore not securely fasten to my TC-200 or TC-14B.

The BF-1A is also molded in plastic.
