Research Interests
The Evolution of Alternative
Splicing. Microarrays methods are being developed in
collaboration with Exiqon A/S to quantify alternative splicing
events. This data is being used to examine how splicing patterns
change over evolutionary time.
The Evolution of Sam/Frodo
retrotransposons in C. elegans and C. briggsae.
With Professor Peter Arctander and MSc student Mika Zagrobelny
we have investigated the poulation dynamics and genetic structure
of Sam/Frodo retrotransposons in C. elegans and C. briggsae.
Events in Early Evolution
of Life.
Various project are being followed to examine hypothesis about
the Last Universal Common Ancestor (LUCA), and features of
the early cellular evolution of life on earth.
