Research Interests
My research interest is cytotoxicology and the ciliate
Tetrahymena pyriformis GL in axenic cultures is used as a model cell system. The
dose-related effects of xenobiotics are studied on the capacity of the cells for
endocytosis and proliferation with observations on general behaviour (motility, shape). In
selected concentrations, the cells are studied for fine structural changes in search of
specific intracellular target sites of the xenobiotics.
